Skills Training
Baking
We believe that preparing for life goes far beyond the classroom. That's why we offer practical skills training like our baking program, a delicious way to build confidence, independence, and creativity.
For the past two years, our children have been learning the art and science of baking. They now proudly bake birthday cakes, afternoon treats, and savoury pastries for the house, not only saving costs, but also learning a skill that may serve them for life.
These hands-on lessons are more than just recipes; they are opportunities. Whether or not they pursue baking professionally, our goal is for every young person to leave our foundation better prepared, with real-life skills and the pride that comes from creating something with their own hands.
Braiding
In many parts of Africa, braided hair is more than a style; it's tradition, identity, and even opportunity. That's why we teach our girls the art of hair braiding, passing on a culturally rich and highly valued skill. Through this program, they learn how to create different types of braids, from simple to intricate styles, gaining both creativity and precision. For some, this may become a form of self-expression; for others, a future profession with income potential.
Braiding is a skill that stays in your hands and in your heart. Our goal is to make sure every girl leaves with more than just knowledge; she leaves with the power to support herself and others.
